Know the station
Read its diagram. Ask staff to show unfamiliar seat, pulley, mode and safety-stop adjustments.
- 02
Adjust it unloaded
Make adjustments with the weight unloaded. Start light and fully insert each weight-stack selector pin.
- 03
Try an easy set
On a weighted machine, try 8–12 smooth reps. Rest, then adjust only if it feels comfortable. Knee raises: start with 6–10 easy reps.
No bouncing, jerking, breath-holding or slamming plates. Keep every rep within a comfortable range.
Pain is not a cue to push on.
Stop for sharp pain, numbness, dizziness or unusual shortness of breath. Get help if symptoms persist.
